IT architects need to support the business. Following architectures and frameworks by themselves has led to many failures. The reason is that the architect and the relationships with stakeholders are the focal point for the delivery of new enterprise capabilities. Digital transformation exists at the nexus of Business and IT. However, the IT architect really needs to engage with stakeholders and be a proactive leader. Through well-defined relationship touchpoints and understanding the enterprise IT maturity, the IT architect can provide successful outcomes and evolve the enterprise to support true digital transformation.
