I am extremely happy to say that Iasa Austin will be gathering support for this years Austin Childrens Shelter Gala Event “A Night of Giving Dangerously”. http://www.austinchildrenshelter.org/site/PageServer?pagename=Events_Night_of_Giving_Dangerously&AddInterest=1323.  Iasa Austin will be committing all of it’s resources to get Austin Architects, CTOs, CIOs and IT Management to support the event through donations towards a table. As this is our first year to do so we are targeting a contribution of $5,000 to $10,000 to support this important local charity and get Architects and Technologists a table. The largest donors will be entered into a raffle for the 10 seats at the table which will be lovingly designated with an Architects Rule! sign.
As importantly the Austin chapter will be putting together a working group on developing technology strategy and solutions for Austin charities and non-profits! This working group will target available architects in town to consult and develop technology programs for local charities who would not get access to such highly capable resources and to do so for free! contactus@iasahome.org for more information or to volunteer for these extremely important programs or to donate.
As an aside, I am so very happy to see the association turning this direction. For the first time in history Enterprise and IT architects will be working together to help society and humanity as a real professional body. As the CEO and founder, this has always been a dream of mine and to see it beginning to come together is extremely powerful.
